Alexey is Belarusian, but the local community in Brest has decided that he is Chechen. Human Constanta, a Belarusian human rights organization, wrote a post about this and received an influx of negative comments, proving once more that the tolerant Belarusians are just a myth. HC activists will tell the story of the Invisible Refugees and the challenges they face on the Polish-Belarusian border.
Human Mic
The human microphone is a method to “amplify” demonstrations, as popularised by Occupy Wall Street. One person speaks, and those around them repeat the words. The voice is carried in waves into the crowd. During the Festival, and without becoming undemocratic, we will reverse the course of this process. An individual will recount collective experiences: stories of walls and borders from different parts of the world. Personal stories will be made public.
