Teatr Porywacze Ciał was founded in 1992 by Katarzyna Pawłowska and Maciej Adamczyk, professional actors who are also the company’s dramaturges and directors. Pawłowska and Adamczyk draw on vaudeville, cabaret and happening, as they balance between psychodramatic directness and metaphorical aloofness. Their strategy is one of parody and pastiche employing the signs and symbols of contemporary culture. Humanicana is the company’s 28th premiere.
