The original material for this show is unadorned traditional dances: the Polish oberek and the Brazilian samba de pé, as well as their accompanying narratives. The creators examine how traditional culture can inspire contemporary choreography, and stage an event to celebrate a sense of community and the ecstatic and transformative dimension of dance. The performance follows the story of Yanka Rudzka (1916-2008), considered one of the most important modern dance artists in the Brazilian city of Salvador.
