The Polish flag is two-coloured. Politicians have two right or two left hands. We the citizens are divided into educated and uneducated, wealthy and poor, saintly – depraved, clean – dirty, female – male, or even right- and left-handed. We are encouraged to play roles and oppose others, even those in disguise. Tomasz Machciński, a man of a thousand faces, breaks these basic binaries by becoming each one of us and playing each of our roles.
